‘Ensure no illegal dumping in dam’

Bhopal: The Bhopal-based central bench of National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Friday directed principal secretary, water resource department (WRD) to form a patrolling/monitoring team of local officials to ensure that there is no illegal dumping of any building material within the full tank level (FTL) of the dam, which affects its storage capacity and take immediate action if any illegal dumping is observed. NGT said that since Kerwa dam falls within the jurisdiction of the department, it is WRD'S basic duty to ensure that there should not be any illegal dumping.
